Debaffle - Finally

Well I finally got off my lazy ass and did the debaffle. Someone tell me why I waited so long. This is exactly the sound I was looking for.

BD, You are correct. And let me tell you it's damn hard work to be as lazy as I am sometimes.

For teh record. If you can't find 1-1/2" dowel pegs and use 1-1/4" you need to be VERY sure that you are on center. My first one wasn't and it walked on me. Took almaost 15 mins to do the first side and 3 mins to do the other.

Trial and error ya know.

walked? If you mean loose, just soak them in water for a bit. :)

I done mine awhile back, and I too couldn't believe it took me so long. I told myself when I bought this bike that I was going to keep it compleaty stock and just ride the dang thing, because my last bike I changed everything, and some of it really wasn't that great. I didn't want to mess with the nomad because it rode so well. I do like a v-twin sound though. So against my own judgment I de-baffled. It is the sound that I wanted. To me it's perfect, and that's all that matters. and then I seen Nomad with Honda Valkyrie exhaust tips and I had to have a set. Sent the check yesterday to a gentleman in Kansas. Can't wait.

Well the idea is that a 1-1/2" dowel will fill the inside of the hole saw and keep it fairly steady. I used 1-1/4" so there was room for the hole saw to wiggle and it didn't line up exactly on the weld the way I would have liked. I guess I could have used a 1-1/2" hole saw and cut some dowels out of a 2x4 or something but oh well it went ok. Went riding with my friends yesterday and for the first time I could still hear my own bike.
