Who has the best price on the extended warranty? My bike will be two years old in may so I need to check this out and see if its something I want to buy or not.

Extended warranty

Lots of folks on here have bought them off of ebay for an incredibly reduced price from a dealer I think somewhere in the midwest and as I recall they have had great results. Doesn't matter what dealer you buy it from, any Kawi dealer will honor it.

The one I got on my 05 was from a Colorado dealer, so probably the one Waterman gave a link to.

Extended warranty

I also bought mine from the eBay link above, Fremont Motorsports; Florence, Colorado. Paid $355 (four years) since I was the only one bidding. Made the eBay purchase on 11/19/07; got a copy of the contract a few days later from Fremont Motorsports dated 11/20/07 (Gerry Buderus, (719) 784-9633). Also received a letter from Kawa Corporation dated 11/20/07 thanking me for purchasing the plan and provided a wallet size card showing the expiration date, etc. In other words, it was a fast and efficient process. Also went into the Kawa web site under Owners Info, entered my VIN, and verified that my extended warranty was in their system.

Unfortunately your bike still has to be under the factory warranty to buy this. States it very clearly in the reading "do not bid". Mines a 2006 and warranty was up 2/2008. Oh well.

Extended warranty

I saw the same the same offer on E-Bay, ($355 starting bid, $390 buy out right) about a month ago, so I went to my local dealer where I bought the Nomad and told him about it. He looked up his selling price ($690 something) then he checked his price ($390) and said he would sell it to me for $390, no argueing or haggling!! It's nice to buy local when possible. Anyone looking to buy an extended warranty might want to check on this option!

I wonder if there is a maintenance package ( wanna be warranty ) that you could get if your machine is out of factory warranty? Mine is an 06 and the warranty was gone when I got it. Might be nice if they could inspect it to make sure there are no major pre-existing issues and then sell me a sort of extended warranty to cover major stuff, or at least a percentage of it.

Extended warranty

Has anyone had to use the extended warranty? Bought my '06 Nomad used and it has a remaining extended warranty until May '09. Dealer transferred it to me. Just wondering about further extending it? I usually believe that if these are built so well, what could go wrong that would be covered by the warranty and how likely would it be? What are the "odds"? I guess, what has been the experience of other owners?

I agree, they are built well, and there are many folks on the forum that want nothing to do with extended warranties for that very reason. But I figure, $355 for four years amounts to about 25 cents a day and for me, that's an inexpensive "peace of mind" thing. Also, if I should ever have to sell it, I think it would be easier to sell if still under a transferable warranty since the buyer could feel confident that there were no major problems with it.
