FLIP A LEVER CRUISE CONTROL

Cross threaded my throttle lock and stripped threads beyond repair. Would like to replace with the same. However, it appears the company is out of business due to a law suit over one of their products.

Does anyone know of another source for the "Flip A Lever Cruise Control" by Schneiders inc.

Wish I did. I've been wanting one of those for some time and cannot seem to get my hands on one. :-/

Did you strip the threads on the shaft or the bracket? If it was the bracket, you could use jam nuts, one on each side of the bracket. I got the Flip-A-Lever also, and don't really want to part with it. ;) It's a pretty good item to have.

I have one also, and it is great. My son wanted one for his 1500 Classic he bought last year, but we couldn't find a source. Rickyboy, I'm not certain what yours is, but it does not look like my flip-a-lever.

I can see how they had a liability issue since it does not disengage when you hit the brakes. But it was inexpensive and works very reliably for giving your right hand a short rest on a long ride or steadying the throttle to avoid upward speed creep on the freeway. Just have to remember to release it in traffic and in town.

One of my off season add-ons was a breakaway cruise control. Expensive but looks good and has a feature that disconnects the throttle lock if you hit your front break as well as a release that you can hit with your thumb. Nice machined aluminum unit that looks factory. I think I got it on sale for about $165.

I also have the lever lock, and have used it on longer hauls..They are nice and cheap, if you can find them..If you locate any, post the location here incase others would like 1.

This is not the 1 I use, but may work.

Nope. I spent 6 months looking for another source. Found a member here who was selling his Flip-a-lever and bought mine from him. Maybe watch eBay. You could always have a machine shop make a new threaded piece for you. Or, you could install a real cruise control instead.

BTW, mine isn't available. I use it to hold the fast idle when my bike is cold. Sorry.

FLIP A LEVER CRUISE CONTROL

The product liability case that drove the company out of business involved a BMW kick stand modification.

CJ bought it from me and I figured he may want to part with it after he installed his electonic cruise control. Guess I was wrong hey?
