Unscientific La Femme Nomad count

I went thru all the members pages just out of curiosity and counted the female members. I counted 25 but I also noticed a lot of folks don't have the pink or blue thingy .....they don't know if they are male or female I guess :-/.

Over 1200 members with 25 ladies....us ladies are just the frosting on the cake.. ;)

Perhaps its difficult for women riders to jump in to a big batch of testosterone and get a word in edge wise with a bunch of Neanderthals who think they know it all?

I love women who ride.

Look under your name. The second line down says "Gender" with the blue "thingy". Nancy went through all of the users manually...that would have been a chore!!!

Only the best women ride Nomads!!!! It show good taste, a flair for the dramatic, an adventurous spirit, and more guts than most men!(except of course all of you guys here).

By the way, when I started to post here, I didn't put down a gender. I wanted to get a "feel" of the site and the members. I have encountered a lot of animosity toward female riders down here where I live and I didn't want for it to be an issue. Obviously I went ahead and changed my bio awhile back. You guys have been helpful, funny and great guys. Thanks for makin' us welcome

The guys here are great - the guys and gals I met at the Eastern rally were just as down to earth and it felt like meeting up with old friends. Hope we can meet at a rally sometime. ;)

Women riders always catch my attention, and not for the normal reason that I usually look at women (yes, I do look). But, there's something especially brave and spirited about a woman riding her own scoot.

Agreed! The women here rock! My Ann's been known to peruse the forum now and then, but she rides a 900. My Nomad is a tank to her - she's just little. ;)

Sexist, chauvinistic, objectifying post follows. Be warned!

I love riding with women. I rode with two lesbians when I was 18 and loved riding with them (was too naive to know they were lesbians, but figured it out later and stayed friends with them for a decade).

They were aggressive and self-assured and I didn't have to slow for them a bit. They competed with each other, not with me. Sometimes I've ridden with guys where I want to take a particular corner really fast just for fun, and all of a sudden they have to show me up on the next corner and are dogging my rear tire thinking they have to show me that they could keep up (a testosterone thing). Women riders have more of a screw you, I'll ride my own ride attitude. So if they are aggressive by nature, its fun to go for a ride with them without the competition and ego (don't get me wrong, I like to race, just not all the time).

I had a brother who could ride really good. He wasn't blessed with a good dose of risk aversion either, he'd do 60mph blocks long wheelies on his V-65. He couldn't pass me on a canyon race, but almost could if he pushed it too hard. I had to quit racing him because he'd kill himself trying to win. Women don't seem to have the testosterone driven need to compete and win so much.

To top it all off, women just plain look hot on their own bike. Whatever 1-10 category they fall into when they are driving their car, it goes up at least two points when they are on their bikes.

In my best Homer Simpson voice.... Jamie Elvidge hmmm.

OK, enough of the sexist pig talk.... but it's true :)
