Kawasaki Syndrome, ever heard of it?

Kawasaki syndrome (KS), In short, KS causes inflammation of the arteries, which can lead to cardiac problems. The disease shows up in children under 5, but if it's caught early, treatment is usually successful. Most children recover from it.
Jeyy Travolta, John Travolta's son supposedly shffered from this disease.
Just thought I'd post as I had never heard of this.
Yeah I know, some of you thought it was a compulsion to buy Kawasaki motorcycles ;)

Damn, I thought you were going to explain my obsession with customizing during winter and my constant urge to shovel the snow away from my shed so I can get the bike out.

Never heard of it until my wife told me from reading about Travolta.

Other than the medical description, I think I've had it for 10 years

I can remember seeing "Kawasaki syndrome" pop up when I would do google searches for Kawasaki motorcycles, but I never clicked on any of them to learn what it was about. I have been hearing about it now since Travolta's son tragically passed away.

I had not heard of it either until Travolta's son died. Very sad.

But I have to admit I too couldn't help but think...oh that's what use Nomad riders have got.

I had heard of it. Have had a kid in a school I worked in who had it. Couldn't tell you much about it, but I've heard of it.

Kawasaki Syndrome, ever heard of it?

My oldest daughter had Kawasaki disease back when she was 2 years old, when it was a fairly uncommon sickness. Not many doctors knew much about it at the time. It took 3 doctors to finally diagnose it. Never knew what caused it, but came on suddenly. The first week of it, her skin got really red looking like a bad sunburn, almost scalded looking, eyes swelled shut, she looked terrible, but those symptoms went away fast. They had her quarantined for a while, not knowing much about it, and had her on heavy doses of aspirins, as it can affect the heart arteries as was mentioned. She finally got better, but still had to go back periodically for heart echo cardiograms for a couple years. She is fine now, 31 years old and has 2 healthy sons. We all were very fortunate to get through this back then, as this condition can be a deadly one.
