Does anyone else like Rock with their Xmas?

I saw Trans Siberian Orchestra last night again. I way like my Xmas served up with heavy guitars and lots of bass and drums. I like explosions and flames with it too.

I had a middle Isle seat on the floor 12 rows back, close enough to feel the heat of the flames :)
If you like Xmas music and rock shows, it's a fun way to get into the holiday spirit.

Here's a crowd shot video showing some of their excess. I like some over the top excess.

Dan...I've seen their Christmas show twice now, and have really enjoyed them both times. Fantastic screaming guitars and some phenominal keyboard stuff. BUT....it's been the same show both years. Have they changed it this uear or do they have the same 1st half narration about Christmas in different countries and the old man in the bar? Just curious before I spend another $150 on 2 tickets.

Mike, it's the same first half. I'd like to see a different one too, but that old man in the bar is so good I forgive it. The guy who plays him on the western tour is so good that this time I went to look up who he is.

He's Bart Shatto and he's got an impressive resume. He's played Jean Valjean, the lead in Le Miserables on Broadway and a lot of other lead parts.

Because I've only seen them twice too, I wouldn't mind if they re-toured with some of their past albums/stories.

They were here in Phoenix a couple of weeks ago. I wish I'd gone.

Hmm, I think that is a sure fire recipe for making an adrenaline junkie child. Watch out when he gets rid of the training wheels!

I modified the link in the original post with one with better sound for an example of their light show.

Jealousy is a bad thing right? Someday I'll be able to take my wife, but in the meantime, I guess I'll put the CD on repeat.
