PGR Mission ALERT - 100 Marines (California)

The following is a notice I received by email. I will post the second email described below when I receive it. Hope to see some KawaNow Riders on this mission. I will be meeting up at the Westly Rest Area on I-5 and riding to Alameda.....

"This is the first of two emails. The second email will be very detailed - times, locations, etc. I will probably send it out on Tuesday.

On Sunday, 9 November, we will have 100 plus Marines from 4th Force Recon returning to Alameda from their 7 month tour in Iraq. They will be coming on ground transportation from Camp Pendleton. The PGR will have a multi part mission and is the lead in this Welcome Home. We need Riders and participants "all over the place"!

On Saturday, 8 November, at 8:15 AM (0815), I will leave for Camp Pendleton. On Sunday Morning, we will stage with the Marines at approx 7:00 AM (0700). Departure time is scheduled for 7:30 AM (0730). SoCal PGR will be adding to our efforts and bringing a mess of riders to the Base (SoCal RC is Marine (former Sergeant) John Nanney). Many will ride as far north as Grapevine (Lebec) where we will meet up with State Captain Rich Biddlecome and PGR from all over. Currently, additional staging points are for the following area's - Santa Nella/Gustine, Altamont Pass, 5/580 Interchange, and Alameda. RC's have been assigned to these points. Times and specific staging points will be published with the next email. You can join up anywhere but the specified points will be easier to control (phone calls to update arrival times, etc). You can also just show up along the route (overpasses, etc) to hold signs, wave flags, etc. As in all Welcome Homes - invite everyone!! If you know other riders, MC's, independents, non riders, anyone - get the word to them. 10,000 people fell out to celebrate the Philly's World Series victory - these Force Recon Marines are some of America's true hero's - lets show them and the rest of America who counts.

Put it on your schedule, please.

Semper Fi!!!
