Use a long shank hole saw?

Has anyone taken a hole saw, welded a long shank onto it and drilled out just the end of the baffles? After looking at the picture of how the mufflers are made, I would think it would allow a freer flow of exhaust gas and maybe a little lower tone?
Anyone done this?

The link is to the instructions on how to do that very thing. It is one of the most popular Nomad mods.

Thats a good idea, but Blowndodge owns the rights to the procedure
You have to contact him and find out how much he is charging at this time to let you do it. ;)

Are you talking about removing the rear baffles as many of us have done or are you thinking about the reducing rings further up in the inner pipe after the rear baffles have been removed?

Whoo! That's a sentence an English teacher would love!

i hav a 07 fi nomad, so no carbs. i did the bafflectomy, and it doesnt make it very much louder, but it gives it a deeper tone. from what i understand as long as your not changing anything on the intake, you dont have to adjust anything. now i may be wrong stating that, carbs may be different. im sure someone else will chime in on this.

LIKE everyone said it has been done .SO you will have info by the TONs. :)....1 thing to remember is that some states are getting stricter on modded exhaust come inspection time,,, I purchased a Modded set and kept my stockers JUST INCASE.... YOU can BUY a used set fairly cheap. here, Kawasaki Vulcan Forums on Delphi or E Bay..............ALOT change to Aftermarket pipes and get rid of the stockers.....sometimes for cost of shipping or cheap.......JUST my 2 cents......... Actually I'm talking about taking a stock set of exhaust pipes and running a long shafted hole cutter into the exhaust hole (which is the back end of the ballle) and drilling out the forward "end" of the baffle only....leaving the baffle in place....that's what I'm asking about..

My understanding from guys who've done this is that it provides no additional sound. Some have just taken a long pointed pole and just puched through the screens.

I don't think there are many inspection people out there that would even notice that the exaust has been modified doing the bafflectomy. If there are places getting that persnickity Vance and Hines is in REAL trouble having V&H stamped right on the side of the pipe.
