You guys watch this season of "Hard Knocks" on HBO... It chronicled the Cowboys pre-season camp...you really get to know the players and coaches and it really makes it interesting to watch them play. Never been a Cowboys fan really, but find myself kinda pulling for them now.....well, unless the play the Panthers or the happless Dolphins...

Speaking of Dolphins.....any Patriot fans out today!!! Go Fins.

Well since we're talking about the cheerleaders now. . .

A long time ago, back in the '70's, a friend had season tickets to the Atlanta Falcons. There for a few years he would invite us to go to one of the games. These seats were way up in the nose-bleed section so one year I decided to take my spotting scope which I used in competitive shooting. This thing was a 16x-36x variable power and I figured that, by God, I would be able to at least see the players on the field for a change.

Well, it didn't work out like planned. Even all the way down to 16 power I could only get about 4 or 5 players in the field of vision and once they started to move after the hike, fuhgetaboudit!

All was not lost however!

I very quickly noticed that it was perfect for looking at the cheerleaders, especially cranked up to 36 power!

DANG! Talk about "Up Close and Personal!" I couldn't begin to tell you who won the game that day, but I've never forgotten how good those cheerleaders looked from an apparent distance of 3 or 4 feet away!

I don't even watch much NFL on TV anymore since the frigging networks have decided NOT to show the cheerleaders hardly at all.
