First football game last night

As some of you may have guessed, I am the head football coach at my high school. Our first game was last night. We were at 25 straight losses (I went 0-10 in my first year as head coach last fall after being an assistant for 24 years) spanning 2 1/2 seasons, going into last night's contest. We have 10 sophomore starters between the offense and defense, so we are super young. My two high school sons are starters on the offensive line, one is a senior center, the other is starting at right tackle.

Well enough of the background information, we finally won! 26-6 was the final score in front of a really good sized crowd at home. We were up 20-6 at half and scored the final TD midway through the 4th quarter.

We have about 100 kids out in the program now, which is an all time high and the JV started with a win also. I hope we are finally turning the corner.

very cool!! Nice colors too...my son just ran his first cross country race today...and his school colors are the same!

Congrats on the win. Our High School went 0-21 before winning last week. 2 years ago we made it to the State Semi-finals in Class 2. We lost to the eventually State Champion, and started a 21 game losing streak. I was so glad for the boys' win last week. They won again last night 40-0. Maybe things have turned around for us.

That's great, Coacha! It can be a huge momentum swing when that first victory comes after a long drought. Our football program here was in a long funk like that about ten years ago, but things have greatly turned around.
