How have you mounted a CB antenna?
I am thinking about replacing my Chatterbox with a J&M CB radio and would like to hear from any of you who have a CB just how you mounted the antenna and what type of antenna you use.

How have you mounted a CB antenna?
Idaho, I just bought from Amazon ($50) a midland handheld with a remote boom mic and speaker. I put a large zip tie around the clutch reservoir and slide the radio belt clip on it. I can easily take it off and on. I installed a 12v recepticle ($5 O'Reilly's Auto Supply) to power the CB radio or charge my cell phone.
Havent tried it on the freeway yet, but it works great on my test run around the area. I am hoping I can use it on group rides or when following the wife while she is driving the rv. I thought for so little money, I may have got what I need. If you want me to take pictures. Send me a PM. |

How have you mounted a CB antenna?
Portable Midland with a rubber duck antenna will allow com between bikes for a short distance. I'm looking for an intercom as well as an aux amplifier for my MP3 player to plug into. Some day I will feed a satelite radio into it also. Good luck with your setup, can't go wrong for the money.

How have you mounted a CB antenna?
I think you'd waant to mount an antenna on a trunk, or in your case, a luggage rack. I remember seeing them mounted at the bottom of the rear fender on Harleys and 'Wings.

How have you mounted a CB antenna?
Yeah, the luggage rack idea would seem to put the antenna in the way of a T-bag or anything else that I would want to strap to the rack. I'm wondering if there is a way to mount one with the bolts on the fender rails down next to the tail light assembly.

How have you mounted a CB antenna?
There's a way to do everything, Bud. You engineered the jack adapter, I'm sure you can come up with something for a CB antenna mount.
Maybe something at the rear of one of the saddlebags? It could mount underneath the bag and extend out behind it?

How have you mounted a CB antenna?
Radio Shack carries a mount that clamps around round tubes such as mirror mounts on trucks.I mounted an antenna to the round tube of the backrest. I also found this mount at a truck stop in the CB radio accessories section.

How have you mounted a CB antenna?
I installed the JMC 2003 cb rig on my bike. Bought the license plate mount/w antenna. The bracket was very flimsy. I bent a 90 in it and mounted it to the sissy bar brackets (you will need some 1/4" standoffs). This works very well and won't interfere with any bags that you may put on the bike...

How have you mounted a CB antenna?
I have mine mounted to the right rear bolt on the fender strut and have the antennae angled to match the passenger backrest. Yes it's only one bolt with a lock washer and a locktite but I added a rubber pad between the mounting bracket and the chrome strut cover it it seems to work very well.

How have you mounted a CB antenna?
This is probably too little, too late, but this is how I setup my CB antenna, Bud. Got all the parts at Radio Shack.
