Denver DNC police

I wanted to be able to show what a police presence there is in Denver this week, so I made a blog just to be able to post the photos.

There is about every agency from local, state, and federal that I've ever heard of when I looked at there arm patches. Plus plenty of military helicopters overhead.

It looks like you could blend right in with most of the cops if you were wearing a black jumpsuit and a blue hat. IVAW wanted me to come out but I wasn't going to make a special trip.

They were talking about "legions" of officers with automatic weapons patrolling the 16th St Mall area on my local news this morning. Criminals are going to have a field day in Aurora and Montbello with all the police resources focused downtown this week.

Funny you don't hear about such a force in Minneapolis for the republican convention. I suppose they figure those guys are all packing anyway right? Ha Ha.

Geeze! Looks like the Nazi convention.

It's because he isn't AMERICAN enough!!!

I think they'll catch any one that tries anything 'funny' to him this week!

how about next week

I heard someone on the radio say Obama was actually born in Africa and his birth certificate "as published" was altered to show him born in Hawaii. If they find out he's not actually elligible to be POTUS, people will probably burn Denver to the ground.

CNN had a special report this weekend about his half-brother who lives in a slum over there...that when his father left him and his mother he went to Africa and has another family there...

I saw some coverage on the news tonight about Denver. Wow, what a circus! Looks like there's going to be a war with all the police around!

During the day, it's close to gridlock downtown. Having a motorcycle and using allies and parking lots etc. helps.

If you need to get somewhere, I'd avoid downtown completely.

I added more photos tonight, and I'll add more each day.

Tonight, they did a trick that they did in New York 4 years ago. They let protesters head down a street, then a ways in they brought out a line of horses in front of them, and a line of riot police behind them, trapping them in one block so they could arrest anyone in that block.

Then they blocked off about 5 square blocks with a line of riot police at each block entrance for hours until they process all the protesters.

In my night photos, it keeps looking like the same line of cops, but that is how it looked for block after block. Solid police lines for blocks.
