Update on my Mom

You will remember that she broke her hip while I was in Ohio to celebrate her birthday. I spent the next 5 days with her in the hospital. We joked and laughed and I helped her with whatever she needed. Most of the time that involved me getting the nurse. (some things I don't want to do for my Mom, know what I mean?) She kept telling me how greatful she was that I was there and how much it meant to her. Now three weeks later she is recovering very well. Hip is healed enough that she can get up and walk with a walker. The therapist is amazed at her recovery. Here is the funny part, she does not know where she was in the hospital at and she can not remember that I was there!! LOL... My Mom was zoned out on drugs. Good thing I guess cause that had to hurt real bad. She was a bit goofey at times. I'm still greatful that I was able to be there.

Update on my Mom

Glad to hear she's doing much better Idaho. And to think you could have finally told her you have a motorcycle.

LOL She already knows about the bike. I did tell her to put me in her will though. She thought that was funny because she does not own spit.

Update on my Mom

I'm glad she's feeling better. If she's like my mom, she's bugging you about riding motorcycles and been doing so for 35 years. They just don't give up.

Update on my Mom

Good to hear your mom is progressing well Bud. I'm going to try to get back to Dayton sometime in September. The weather should still be good enough to ride.

Actually, my Mom is a saint. She does not gripe at me for anything and loves my bike. In fact she wished that she was steady enough to ride with me when I was home. A few years ago the family was all sitting around during a picnic telling stories about everyone there when we asked if anyone had an embarrasing story about my Mom. We all thought hard and looked at each other and realized that no one had an embarrassing story about her, just stories about how she helped others and did for everyone else. At that moment we nick named her Saint Flo. She believes strongly in the power of prayer and has the most amazing faith of anyone I know. My Mom is an ispiration to me.

Update on my Mom

My mom is a dear woman, but she has always been overly concerned that we kids would kill ourselves (or each other.) I think we worried her a lot because we were a bit reckless when we were young. Actually she still thinks me too reckless, because old farts like me aren't supposed to ride motorcycles.

It doesn't seem that long ago that she was telling me I was to young to ride a motorcycle. *sigh*

Update on my Mom

My Mom was always against me owning a motorcycle when I was growing up. Dad too. Now that I bought my own they are happy to see me enjoying myself rather than being caught up in work all the time. Mom still worries though. She promised me she would take a ride with me. She is 81 and has never ridden in her life. That should be a good experience for both of us. Moms are the greatest...

Update on my Mom

Thats great Idaho, glad she is recovering quickly.
My Mom and Dad rode on his Indian in their younger days so no hassle when I bough my first bike
Lost Dad in 1990 and Mom in 2003. Miss them everyday.
Cherish the time you have together.
