World's worst newspaper story

This is from the Salt Lake Tribune. It is quite possibly the worst written news story I have ever seen. I remember better journalism from my junior high school newspaper. I am posting it in its entirety...

Motorcycle rider killed, passenger hurt

The motorcycle crashed and caught on fire. The 28-year-old male rider became trapped and was killed. A 31-year-old male passenger suffered critical injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.
The men's names and towns of residence were not released because their families had not been notified, Hoffman said.

Me again, I'm not trying to make light of the fact a fellow rider lost his life, just pointing out the poor writing ability of a professional newspaper journalist.

That is awful journalism!!!!!!

I should mention that they did eventually fix the story after a few dozen comments from readers.

Yeah, they may have corrected it, but how many pay attention to the corrections vs. reading the original story...someone needs to find a new career.
