YOUR AGE BY DINER & RESTAURANT MATHS

DONT read the bottom until you've worked it out!


1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like
to go out to eat. (more than once but less than 10)

2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)

3. Add 5

4. Multiply it by 50

5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1758...

If you haven't, add 1757.

6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.

You should have a three digit number.

The first digit of this was your original number. (i.e., How many times
you want to go out to restaurants in a week.)

The next two numbers are








YOUR AGE ! ------ (Oh YES, it is!)

THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2008) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE
IT LASTS

OK..so multiplying 5 X 50 (250) and adding it to 1757 or 1758 makes that total the current year for your most recent birthday. Then you have 2 X 50 = 100 which is multiplied times the number of times you want to eat out and thus moves the number of times you eat to the hundreds place, leaving the ones and tens places as your age since you subtract the year you were born from the total. So it will still work next year if you add 1 to the 1757 and 1758.

ok...how the hell does that work? any mathematicians out here?

I can hardly figure out my age when Im staring at my birth certificate. Somebody's got way too much time to figure that one out! But it was kinda neat.

This is really fun. It works for any year as long as the number in step 5 is adjusted. The first time I saw this I was working at a travel agency. I asked each of the girls (women, OK) to do the numbers only the first question was how many times did they want sex in a week. When they were finished and gave me the 3 digit number I said, "Wow, x number of times a week for sex? That's not bad for a xx year old woman!" Some of them really laughed but a few of them whacked me pretty good. :)

Would we be correct in assuming that this explains why you mention working there in the past tense? ;)
