Radiator Cover buzzing

At certain RPM's my Radiator Cover buzzes like crazy. Anybody ever experience this...any fixes?
I figure I can put some foam in between around the edges, but I'm worried about melting.

Any Ideas?

Bobby: My rad mesh grill vibrates mainly when I accelerate high rpm in first and then let it coast back in first. Don't hear it at hiway speeds though. I was thinking of some kind of padding that would be heat proof though??

I don't know if it's the mesh part buzzing against the outer frame or the whole assembly rattling against the radiator.
I was thinking of that adhesive foam tape used on truck beds for toppers. Stick it to the grill frame. Maybe I'll stick a piece on the side of the radiator and see if it lasts.

Ok, I can't take credit for this. Take off the outer cowel (not the screen) get some 1/8 inch vacum tube, split it and place it on the edge of the screen. Re install the cowel, problem should be solved.

Radiator Cover buzzing

i had what i thought was a radiator cover buzz. but after investigating further what it actually turned out to be is the cover that surrounds the forks that the headlight is attached to. i tapped it on the rear with my fingers and it rattled on one side . when i reached inside from the back there was a flat reinforcing bar on each side that was loose i stuck a wooden shim in it and it has not rattled since. to much work to take it apart and the shim does not show it has not rattled in 25000 miles. but i to thought it was the radiator it was driving me bonkers

Every now and then, I get a bad rattle coming out of the front of my Nomad. It started doing it again on my Utah trip. When I got back, I checked into it and it turned out to be inside my light bucket.

I bought some two-inch wide velcro at Wally World and strapped the wiring harness with velcro.

Only rattling I have ever had all went back to the H/L bucket. That was only with a big jolt.

Radiator Cover buzzing

Bob, I took the cover off mine and put some car door edge trim on the screen edge and it took care of my buzz.
Ride safe,
Dano

Sounds like a great idea Dano, if the heat doesn't melt the edging. I really believe my rattling is from the mesh rad cover vibrates against the rad core, my brothers does the same thing, '06.

Had mine on for over a year and it's never melted. It will also cushion the cover against the screen. Just cost you a couple bucks and if it works, great. If not, a couple bucks won't break you and it'll narrow down the search. ;)
Ride safe,
Dano

Dano: I took some old black door edge guard I had laying around the garage and slid it on all 4 sides of the mesh screen(radiator) and replaced black metal frame and that FIXED my weird screen noise. I think it is the wind osciallting through it and then the metal frame picking that vibration up. It was always a metal tinny sound I would get. Thanks for the tip hope i can repay you back.

No sweat Bob. I'm sure you'll have a tip I'll use

Update: I did the trick Dano suggested with door edge guard all around the screen in front of radiator and I thought it fixed it, BUT it still has that tinny vibration when I decelerate in first gear. Still could be the screen on the radiator or something else. Will have to continue searching it out.
