Scootworks risers

Looking at the Scootworks Phat risers ll for the 1600 Nomad. Anybody have these? Any contact problems with the speedo nacelle or cables needing to be lengthened? Also looking at their 2 inch extensions. Wanted the Aeromach risers but they are out 10 weeks plus on backorder.

Scootworks risers

I bought a set of the phatII risers and while they were on their way to me I installed a mustang set with drivers backrest. The set sits about 1" lower than stock and a little futher forward. That put me into a very comfortable riding position (Im 6'2" @ 240lbs) so I sent the risers back for a refund. I must say they were very well made and looked great with a heavy construction. According to others I know with them, all the stock cables and lines will work. Hope this was some help.

I did not have nacelle or cable problems installing Phar11 risers on my 08 Nomad. Right brake cable is tight but not enough to cause problem.
You can get extra length by (gently) pulling on the cables plus, if necessary, cut the zip tie under triple tree for more length.
You should not have a problem.

You'll like the phat11 risers.

That's a bummer. Now how much are you up to not including your time and brake fluid?

I have the PhatII's and they are great. They put me in the exact riding position I needed to be in -- no more shoulder aches. The brake line is tight but it works.

Scootworks risers

I just installed mine last weekend and love them. 6'1" and put me right where I wanna be. No problems w/ the cables.... as said before...just gently tug and they'll come out more. I did have to loosen the tank and nacelle..so pull back as far as they would go to make sure I didn't hit anywhere. I also used the center hole on the riser instead of the offset hole. Felt more solid to me and I can't explain it (although I'm sure somebody on here will) but turning at slow and high speeds is much easier now and more stable. You won't be sorry if you get these!!!! Scootworks makes a great show chrome product!!!

I was wondering the same as nomadwest about speedo nacelle contact with the risers. I take it that the riser has different mounting holes depending on the clearance needed?

You have a choice of two positions. They recommend the offset position for late Nads but Matt did his in the center. One way or another, you have a product that will fit. Mine are offest and work fine.

Thanks I found the instructions link over at scootworks and I've got my head wrapped around it now.

Scootworks risers

Not sure who's done it or is planning on it...but some good advice was given to me on here and friends phone calls...so I'll pass along. 1st and MOST IMPORTANT... Take a blanket or large towel and cover your tank and front fender before you get started!!! No matter how much you like your new risers...you'll hate like hell if you scratch your paint or chrome!!!! I have a wheel chock mounted on the floor of my garage, so it made putting these on very simple. Loosen your handle bars, but don't take them all the way out until after you loosen the risers. The handle bar will keep the risers from twisting! I just used some extensions w/ a deep well socket and a universal joint to make getting to the bolts easy. If you have somebody who can just hold the handle bars for you when you take the bottom bolts off the risers, it's much easier. Remove to bolts... then remove the handle bar from the risers. Like I said before...I used the center hold instead of the offset hole on the PhatIIs.... put them in and loosely attached them... (basically reversing my order from above) and put the handle bars on loosely to keep the risers from twisting.. tighten risers.. the I sat on the bike and put the handlebars in the position I wanted and tightened them up too. I pulled the bike out of the chock and twisted bars from left to right "SLOWLY" incase they hit the speedo nacelle. Since it was late and hard to see...I used an envelope that was laying around and slide it between the risers and the nacelle...testing one side, then the other. Since the envelope wouldn't slide between the 2 on one side...that's where I decided to loosen tank and pull back as far as it would go and tighten. Tested again..and that did the trick. Total time was about 2.5 beers.... or 25-30min. LOL! Of course there were a couple of distractions too...but it's very easy...just tug gently on the cables and they'll give you the slack you need. I didn't end up breaking or removing any of the cable guides either....

Hope some of this helps.....
