I just got a new 07 nomad and only got 250 miles so far and my only problem is it seems to make a lot of top end noise compaired to the 1100 shadow I have. Is this normal ? ???

yeah fisherdude, its all normal...nothing to worry about...its just the characteristics of the engine........lots of ticks, clicks, and whistles even from the gas cap on a hot day........put some V&H baggers on and you wont even notice....in fact, just ride stock for a while and you will be so in love that you won't notice

Thats what I was thinking and the guy at the dealer said the same about the pipes. I like it so far and the 1000 mile break in is killing me I want to see what this puppy will do :) and I do have the whistling gas cap as I live close to Galveston and we dont get much of a winter here, a high of 75 today perfect for riding.

Welcome Texasfisherdude, mind if I call you TFD? Yup, like Todd says, those upper engine noises are common although I don't really notice them any more, except maybe on start up even with stock pipes. If you find your way to Gadget's page (see links on KN web site), he talks about it some, of course its a little hard to tell from your description if there is anything unusual, but probably not. Don't expect too much from the top end when she's broke in but it is a great bike and will do a lot of high-end freeway cruisin

As long as I can keep up with the Harley's I'll be happy the last Kawasaki I owned was a Z1 900 in the 80's and loved to piss the Harley riders off but I was younger then but it was fun.

Welcome!
If a little top end noise don't bother you, you'll find you own one of the nicest cruisers made.

I broke 100 on the way home from the dealer. It was an accident Honest Injun'
Even though it's not a high powered bike. It doesn't run out of steam. I get the same acceleration rolling on the throttle at 80 as I do at 60. It'll do big cruise speed and still be able to move out when you twist it. Nothing spectacular but you'll see.

Don't pay any attention to TC and BD. If you want to break it in correctly don't run it above 80 until you have at least 100 miles on it.LOL,just kidding.Mine didn't see 80 until I had 300 miles on her.And welcome to the forum from eastern Nebraska.
