rear turn signal assembly ?????

Have to remove the rear chrome bumper/trim for my trailer hitch to mount. There is a triangular plate that was under the 2 bolts for the signals. the other point of the triangle bolted to the bottom center of the chrome bumper/trim. Does that trim go with the bumper or the signal assembly. Have tried both ways and the signals seem to be floppy or loose. I can just see them bouncing while going down the road. Tried washers to tighten it up more, but it doesn't seem to want to. Am I missing something under the fender that snugs it up and was removed when the Chrome bumpers were installed?? Thanks, Dave

I think you are missing something that was removed when the chrome bumper was installed. You should have a secondary mounting spot further out towards the lights themselves.

rear turn signal assembly ?????

I figured that. So now I'm in a catch 22. No hitch and put the bling on. Take bling off, install hitch so I can use bike for work and play but have the signals do a bobble head impersonation. Thanks

Got that but doesn't show what I need for assembly under the rear fender. Guess I'll have to go to a dealer.

Go to the Kawasaki USA website, click on 'owner info', then click on parts diagrams. Choose your model and look from there. Good luck!

...were your signals floppy before you took it apart? Mine were on my 2001. I have them off to do a signal light conversion kit. I have read of others who complained about loose signal lights. There is a small sleeve over the 2 bolts that hold the signals on. Some have ground these sleeves slightly shorter and that will allow the signals to bolt tighter to the fender. I'm gonna do that to mine before I bolt it back on. I have a rear fender bumper to install on mine and I looked at the kit. The triangular piece you talk about comes with that kit. I hope I have not confused the issue further. :)

rear turn signal assembly ?????

Just like lomax said:

They come from the factory with the wobble. There should be a metal collar over the bolt and in the grommet.

The fix is to grind down the metal collar (ref 92027 in Parts diagram) so it will allow you to compress the grommets enough to reduce the wobble. Many have done this before.

Part Number info:
92027-162 Description: COLLAR,REAR FENDER

The mounting bracket, from the chrome bumper you removed, effectively accomplished the same thing.

It would be a good idea to put a flat washer between the bold head and the grommet. Be sure the hole is large enough to go over the metal collar.
