Excessive emails and text are a mental illness

I didn't know we were being studied! :-/;D The combination of this forum and our Nomads would really drive the shrinks nuts. Saw this in a recent news article, enjoy!

"As more people leave the office computer, only to log on as soon as they get home, the American Journal of Psychiatry has found addiction to text messaging and emailing could be another form of mental illness.

The article, by Dr Jerald Block, said there were four symptoms: suffering from feelings of withdrawal when a computer cannot be accessed; an increased need for better equipment; need for more time to use it; and experiencing the negative repercussions of their addiction."

The people, doing these studies, need to get out more. If they were riding they wouldn't have these problems. ;)

Once it's classified in the ICD... Intn'l Classification of Diseases... guess what? It becomes "medical" and insurance will pay for treatment, new drugs can be developed and prescribed.... God bless the AMA and the pharmaceutical companies!!!

Hey, somebody had to think of "restless leg syndrome" as a disease, why not emailing/texting? I suffer from EED, excessive email disorder. Then a pharmaceutical company will have to come up with a drug to alleviate the symptoms of EED.
