Replacing front Brake Lines
I have a 05 1600 Nomad and am thinking about changing/replacing the front brake lines. So far, I have only been able to find a kit that has 2 brake lines from the master cylinder to each disc brake. I am interested in going with the steel beaded lines.
Is that a good set-up? Or should I special order replacement lines? Any thoughts or recommendations? Login or Register to Remove Ads |

I put a set of 2" lengthened (to suit my risers) Galpher braided brake lines on my 1500 Nomad, and was very happy with them. Galpherusa has an online shop you can order from, and you can get them in a number of different colors. They're a 3 line kit, with a tee fitting in the OEM location.

A lot of guys with bikes that go to the racetrack use these Fren Tubo brake kits from CapriMoto. Excellent Quality. They offer this kits for our Vulcans. You will have to ask the experts here if our brake lines are the same for different years of our bikes.
Less than $75 delivered. https://www.carpimoto.com/en-US/Bike...SSIC-96-01.htm |

Yea, the good quality lines I really like. I've heard of them, but had not personally ever used them. Alot of the old HDs that had problems with the front disc brakes, the old rubber lines, you'd clamp down on the things really hard, and they'd bow up like a big ole andaconda....after about 15 years or so....the things would start coming apart.
The SS braided lines are so much superior and last alot longer because they don't balloon up like the old lines.... I have the cutting and crimping tools to make my own custom lines, but now days, its just as quick and easy to order them already made up. I use my stuff to just replace ends sometimes, when a banjo fitting bursts or starts leaking.... I do make up a good many of my own custom braided fuel lines though....
