Why so many Kawasakis?

As part of my new job, we search the online used dealer bike auctions for used bikes to resell at our location. I noticed today while looking at one of the more common dealer sites that there were a considerable larger amount of Kawasakis over any other brand. Any ideas why this may be?

Why so many Kawasakis?

More new Kaw being sold than other brands is the obvious answer.

Why so many Kawasakis?

Need more info. What kind of bikes and/or models? How old and how many miles? A question that can't be answered so easily, what did they buy after the Kawasaki? Or what did they do? Buy another bike or give it up?

Because you're sensitive to them.

Once you have something or notice something you see a lot more of them.

How does your boss feel about you riding a Kawasaki? Didn't you say they are a Honda dealer?

Probably a higher profit margin to be made. Try and find cruisers and touring bikes with the same features that are priced similar.

I didn't apply for the job. They sought me out and offered me the job. I do a lot of work pormoting different local events and he heard of me through word of mouth.

He knows I ride a Kawi and hasn't really pushed the issue.

Not much information to be had. It's a BIG list of bikes that are on auction from all over the county. It works kind of like ebay, where different dealers bid on used bikes. I just noticed while looking that there seemed to be twice as many kawis as any other brand. Not really looking for a exact reason. I know there are too many factors that come into play, but just found it interesting.

Well Suzuki has pretty much not imported any new bikes for the last 2.5 seasons now so less of them. My guess is the Nomad and 900 LT and the Ninja line outsell their Blue and Red counterparts to begin with, hence more used ones to choose from.

I would think Honda outsells all but HD.

+1

If you count off road vehicles, Honda out sells even Harley.

Depends, but a used Vulcan 900 would be around $3K. A used Vulcan 2000 or Nomad, around $5k, but dealers have to pay around $500 to get them shipped too. The margins are about $1K, which isn't very much when you see the over head expenses of running a nice dealership.

The markup on prices at dealers is unreal. Asked about a key blank to cut an extra. Initially the counter salesperson said $10 a blank. At the end of the day after ordering and coming in the blank was $23.86 without tax. They certainly don't do themselves any favors as far as purchasing from the dealer.!! Den
