Another shock leak

I found my right shock leaking oil this morning when I stepped out into the garage. Called the dealer and have a new one on the way. The new set are only 6 months old. It hasn't failed completely but there is a small spot on the concrete directly below it. I'm only changing one this time, not both.

Get a set of Progressives and be done with it.

It's not uncommon Gene. Many don't have the extended warranty and get a set of Progressives when the OEM shocks crater. I'd do the same thing if Kaw wasn't replacing them. I wouldn't waste my money on them.

Interesting. I bet it has to do with pulling your trailer???

I don't think so Jared. I haven't pulled the trailer since changing both shocks in October 2010. I think there was a batch of shocks with bad seals. I very seldom fool with the shocks other than to check the air pressure. I run 25 - 30 psi in them all the time with the rebound on II. Could be the great roads we have down here.

I'm betting on the roads. I really, really like the Progressives I put on my 03' . They ride much better than stock and better than the mechanical Progressives I put on the 99'. Mitch start saving your allowance for Progressives.

Dealer called today saying he has my new shock. Took the leaker off this afternoon and will swap tomorrow.
