I wish I had a gear indicator on the bike, that one seems to do a little more than just show what gear your in as well.

Never thought about it. Seems to me that there are only 5 gears and I can tell you which of the 5 I'm in by my speed and listening to my engine.

I came off of a 6 speed and still reach for that last gear. Wonder of the tranny from a 1700 will bolt to a 1600? Nah forget it, too much effort to convert from shaft to belt. Still want 6th though.

A 6th could be handy huh? The tach tells me which gear I'm in.

One would think with 2 over drives we wouldn't get up the RPM we get up,........

When ever this comes up somebody always says this.
For some reason, I can't. I used to try for another gear many times when I was already in 5th. Now, with the tach, I'm not confused anymore.
Well, about what gear I'm in anyway. ;)

Sure I've reached for the non existing 6th gear before, but never thought much about it. It doesn't hurt anything, does it?

Lar, tell her a tach does the same thing. You do have to remember some numbers. I can see where that would be a problem for you, but Elaine should have no trouble with it.
