looking for map for Powercommander III
While talking to Joe AKA Chuckster, he said there is possibly someone out there that has dyno'd a 1600 with a powercommander mod on it having his faceplates and aftermarket pipes. I contacted the people who sell powercommander mods and they have nothing "mapped" for vance & Hines baggers with an air intake mod. Any help from anyone as to what kind of map I can install?

I don't run the PCIII, but I went to their web site and like you said "they have nothing "mapped" for vance & Hines baggers with an air intake mod". I then went and looked at the maps for the 1600 Classic (almost the same bike) and one of their maps (#M209-003) looks promising. You might want to check out the Classic section. Chucksters intake is similar to the Thunder type intake.

I am currently running 71 hp and 92 ft lbs of torque. I could ask for them to send me the file |

Where did you buy your PC3? I ordered mine from fuelmoto and it came preloaded with a map for my mods that is close enough for me. It doesn't ping running 87 and is smooth as butter.

I got all my stuff from thunder mfg in phoenix,az he did a full custom tune on the bike going through all ranges individually, no standard map was dropped on mine. I think the extra time and money was worth it.

Can you not download from the PCIII the map that is on it. I have a PCII and i have the software to DOWNLOAD the map from the unit and save it to PC. I would think that you could to the same with the PCIII.

looking for map for Powercommander III
I think Chuckster may have been talking about me...
I just recently installed his single plate kit and my bike already had a PCIII and V&H baggers. I loaded map #M200-003 which is for Roadhouse Dual Exhaust an a hypercharger. Map #M200-002 is for V&H duals an stock or "aftermarket" air kit. M200-003 is giving me about 39 mpg at cruising speeds of 70-75. Hope this helps.

Thanks cabby. Ill try that and thanks for the info. Azround boy...I have been trying to get into a dyno shop but they all say they are booked. Im currently using 209-003 which is actually for V&H Bigshots with baffles and Thunder Air kit on a 2003. Just trying to find something better to use. Didnt really notice much of a difference with this map.

Just spent $300.00 to have 07 Nomad with Thunder Air Kit and V&H Baggers dyno`d. MPG dropped to 28 and bike doesn`t run any better. Had originally used fuel motor map but ran to rich so thought a dyno would fix. Am now running the Thunder Mfg website map for my setup and back up to 40+ MPG. Is there a way to adjust the PC III for MPG without messing with the map? Maybe the Low Med High adjustment on the PC unit itself. Tried finding info on those but no luck, cannot find my cdrom that came with PC III.

I did the Caddman mod and have Jardine Rumblers with the baffles in. Here's my experience to date.
First loaded this. Power was great, gas mileage was absolutely horrific. In the maps defense I was on the throttle pretty hard, but I'm talking like 21mpg. The exhaust also smelled like I was just dumping raw fuel into it. Worked for a jet afterburner but I don't think Kawasaki ever intended this for the 1600. M220-003 Roadhouse dual exhaust, Hypercharger air box So too rich was my thought. Thought I'd lean it out a tad. Turned on the ignition, held down the low, mid, high buttons on the PCIII till they blinked or whatever. I leaned out all 3 (high, mid, and low) by one bar each which I believe is 2% leaner than the LOADED map, not base map. I still believe this to be true but need to double check. Fired it up and immediately noticed a change in the exhaust smell, gas was gone, smelled hotter / leaner (I don't know, just did). Exhaust was also quieter. Took if for a ride and it rode like absolute sh*t. Seemed a tad slower, engine vibrated more, not sure of gas mileage as it ran so bad I could have been getting 50mpg and wouldn't care. Next I loaded the #M209-003 map. Fired it up and holy cr*p was it nice. The sound was awesome, all vibration was gone... though it does seem a tad slower than the firs map above (still waiting for mpg estimates). I'm never happy though and might try and lean out this map 2%. I'm shooting for 39mpg cruising on the highway like the below. My gut feel is that it's just a tad rich. Below is the link that takes you straight to Thunder's maps. If it's nice I'll load them up this weekend and see if they're any faster but with good gas mileage. http://www.thundermfg.com/store/inde...ew&p=map_vn16n I'm hoping to get it right between the mpg, acceleration, smell and sound cause I'm too cheap for a dyno. Might pull the plugs too but the way I see it, with as many maps as I've run through this thing they wouldn't be a good indicator. I know this answers no one's question but thought methodology-wise it could help some people. Nice to know what other people are trying. Will let you know if I ever figure out the golden map. G |

I had my biked tuned on dyno. I have vance and hines baggers with caddman air mod on right side only and ultimate baffles installed. I would want to adjust the fuel on the computer then redownload that to pciii and not adjust at pciii unit. That way if your smelling gas at idle the you can adjust just that. My bike seems to be running great but if i am happy with the throttle then my mpg goes down. if you are going to modify a map make sure you have original to reload or keep good notes so you can reset back to square one.
