Go'in my way?

I'm planning my route to the National Rally in Maggie Valley NC this summer. Originally I was going to take some extra time and drop down from Langley, BC, Can., to Chandler AZ. and travel with C.J.. After some thought I have decided to plan a different route. I am tentatively heading out around June 4th or 5th. I don't want the days to be too harsh but I will have to push a little to make my arrival on time. I have allowed a day or so for some leeway in case there is an issue of some kind, and I need or want an extra day for something.
My first stop will be Spokane WA,
Day two's stop will be Great Falls MT.,
Day three's finish will be Lindsay MT
Day four Fargo ND
Day five will find me stopping in Madison WI
Day six?...Indianapolis IN
The seventh evening should find me resting in the Maggie Valley Inn

This is a rough plan and is open to change. I'm going to guess that I'll average about 400 Mi. per day. Some more, and some less. If anyone is on route and planning to attend the rally let me know and maybe we can hook up for the ride. AND ! if some see's something I might be cautious about or perhaps a road I shouldn't miss, let me know. I am open to change for sure. I hope to have three weeks to get there and rtn. home, so I have a bit of time.
Weather is a concern at that time of year, of course. So if there's a chance or I'm likely to run into snow, I'd appreciate being told. It might be an idea to take a more southern route to insure better weather, but I don't know because I haven't been this route before.

Again, any help is appreciated.

I hope I didn't scare you with tales of riding in 110 degree heat?

No I can tell when I'm not wanted.....

Kidding of course Scott. Like I said in my post, the plan is tentative and not in stone. I just may be parked outside your door when you go to leave Scott. I have been thinking on which way to go and that it would be nice to have another bike riding with me. What would be nice is if someone here on the west coast would/could get their balls out of their purse and come along for the ride. I think there should be a prize for the person who <s>travels</s> rides the furthest, to attend the rally.

That route I laid down in the post is actually the shortest. I could see at 1:00 Am this morning. I'll be looking at the whole thing again. I'm expecting members to chime in and make suggestions on other routes to go.
But just punching in Sumas WA to Maggie Valley NC that is what the Harley Ride Planner came up with, pretty much. I mean I put the stops in so to regulate the mileage per day but that's the route it gave me. I would have thought it would have given a more direct route. Anyway... I'm work'in on it.

If anyone has any suggestions feel free to to make them.

I have to say Ricky's route seems more appealing to me than the route I will be taking. No matter which way I go, it's going to be hot!

You know you're always welcome to meet me somewhere where it's cooler for ya Scott.

Anyway... I'm work'in on it.

If anyone has any suggestions feel free to to make them.

Here's another route I'm think'in on doing.
Just checked a link I had down here but it didn't take me where I wanted to, to show people. Does anyone know how to post a ride from the HD ride planner here on KawaNOW?

Took a while but if you follow this link

http://www.harley-davidson.com/wcm/C...key=-819502018

and go to the "recent rider submitted roads" on the right hand side of the screen you'll see my latest tentative route. It's called KawaNOW National Rally #3. Click on it and you'll see the ride.

Not sure where it went. I'd like to find the place where you can look at all the rides people have made public on Ride Planner

Your trip on I-94 from Great Falls, MT to Fargo, ND will be a long one. Unfortunately there isn't many options to get off the beaten path either. Great time of year to come thru ND, but once you get past Bismarck, ND its extremely flat and boring until a ways west of Fargo. Dickinson is 300 miles west of Fargo, and I've got a piece of lawn for you if you need to take a break.

You might check the north central group board as several there are planning the trip. Might be you could join up with them as they are getting started.
