I need help

first, this is jeffmc and I come humblling crawling back. Hope I am still welcomed.

I changed the battery about a week ago to one of those gel ones. Not a big deal but a tad cumbersome on moving the wiring to get the old out. Got it back in and everything has been working.

I went and just fueled up and the gas gauge is showing one bar still. Thoughts? Called dealer and he said it sounds like a stuck float. I just want to make sure it isnt a stuck Jeff. Should I disconnect battery again just to see if it resets.

Thank you to all here as I dearly missed you.

Welcome back Jeffmc. Stuck float??? Try sloshing the tank back and forth. I had that happen on one bike. A harsh mix job and it came back. I don't think that it would be any connection or wiring.

took seat off and the 3 plug connector on the bar above battery had come loose. Guess I was blind and didnt see my display lights not coming on but since the mileage was showing it didnt cross my mind. Dang, guess I didnt need to re-register.

Again, hope all of you are well.

BD, I still think it would help if you shaved your thighs. Even if, it requires a reciprocating saw.

Welcome back, some of those plugs are a little awkward to get at, and easy to not connect properly. Seems like you got it sorted out pretty quick.

Didn't think about connectors around the battery. Glad it worked out and you found the problem.

Welcome back Jeff and glad you found the connector was the problem. Why the name change or was it something you had to do when you came back?
