I am grounded

At least if feels that way. On July 23rd I left home for a trip to Grand Junction, Colorado on the Nomad with the Blue Knights. Wife was not happy. She seemed to think that I should have stayed home because of my left hip. We suspected that I was suffering from transient osteoporosis of the hip. As long as I was on the bike I was okay. But if I tried to walk anywhere to see the sights my hip was not happy.

That pattern continued after I got home and I finally had enough so I called the Doc. He ordered an MRI and guess what? It confirmed the diagnosis. Only problem is that he also remembered me telling him about my scabbard on the bike and he ordered me on crutches for two weeks. RATS, no Nomad for two weeks. Can't go fishing, can't mow the yard (that's not really a bad thing except I will have to pay the neighbor kid to do it) so I feel like I'm grounded.

This sux. Hopefully the hip will heal in the next two weeks and I can start riding again. Gaaaaah.

Thanks guys. This will heal and it will pass. I just hate to let the Nomad sit for two weeks during riding season.

Maybe get some pedal bike shorts a few pairs to put on over one another, as braces. So whay if it looks odd. Which is better, looking odd or riding?

Hate to hear that Bud. My hips hurt like Dickens when I walk but don't seem to bother me when I ride. Went to orthopedic surgeon and had mine examined. I won't need replacement which is what I thought would have to happen. Lucky there. Guess I will just have to pop pain pills and go with it.

That's too bad, Bud! Follow the doc's orders so you can ride again.
