Bye Stebel, RIP

The past few times I've used my Stebel horn, instead of the loud two-tone blast, I've gotten a monotone squeak. I think the motor has seen its last days. :(

Not wanting to ride with a wimpy horn, on my lunch today I went to Autozone and purchased a 132db electric horn, not an air horn. I'll give that a try and see how it works. If I don't like it, I'll install it in my Bronco and order a new Stebel.

Sure. There's no reason it wouldn't.

Sorry...no photo of Autozone, I'm sure everyone has seen one.

Looks like you mounted it good. Glad to see you got the Stebel replaced quickly.

No Gene, that's my old Stebel. I don't have a picture of the new horn yet. I'll get one tomorrow when the light is better.

I had to be a smart a**. A guy can't even put on a horn without all wanting pics. Good to see ya got a good sense of humor CJ.

You also have a good looking Bronco and a clean Nomad!

Thanks for the comments about my Bronco and my bike! As far as the horn goes, it's round, it's black. It looks like the stock horn, only a bit larger. It's a lot louder than the stock horn, I haven't heard the stock horn for a few years, though. I'll compare my new horn to Toophun's stock horn when we ride today.

Too bad your Stebel went belly-up. They are good loud horns, without going to full blown air horns. The Fiamm Highway Blaster is suppose to be a fairly loud "electric" horn available at Pep Boys and maybe other auto stores, that some bikers have used.
By the way, that's a nice looking Bronco you got there. It reminds me the days of the famous O.J.Simpson "ride", but in red !
