Gas light on dash.

Hi all. anyone know how much fuel is left when the yellow light comes on? I know I stop right then. Usually, when it goes to 1 bar on the gauge is when we stop.
THanks.

Gas light on dash.

This has come up a few times, there seems to be a range of answers and can vary from time to time for the same bike. I usually add a little over four gallons shortly after the light comes on but keep in mind that not all the 5.3 gallons is usable. Maybe wolfman has some links to previous discussions or some others will add their numbers.

I usually go about 30 miles after the light comes on, with no problems.

Gas light on dash.

While my wife and I were riding last Monday My light came on at 161.2 mile on that tank of fuel. I had 193.8 mile on the trip meter when I fueled up and it held 4.21 gallon.

Never had my light on but its reassuring to know you got at least another 30+ miles in the tank.

My light comes on at 120 miles. Seems way to early. 34 miles to the gallon. I hope it gets better than that. My Vulcan 750 got 52 mpg.

Jim, almost 46 mpg? Is everything downhill up there?

Gas light on dash.

With some mods aimed for more power, that 34/36 can be 45/48 .

My opinion is these bike are all to lean, and so work just to stay running. Starved to the point, that MPG's are wasted doing much of anything.

You get less miles per gallon and ride a meeker bike with less than the preformance it was designed to make.

That came as a surprise to me, so if it happened twice for me I see no reason it can't happen for anyone, willing to add a TFI chip, a Caddman Q set up, and V&H baggers..
