Horn Will Not Work

I relocated the horn on my Nomad as I installed the Kuryakyn V-Shield to cover the empty space on the bike that was left after I installed the hypercharger. After moving the horn, I noticed that it no longer works. I have check the fuse and the wiring.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I haven't moved my horn. But, mine stopped working about a year after I got the bike. It's an 06. I liked the chrome horn but i put a black one that I got at Autozone for 12 or 14 bucks.

Key ON press the horn button, and give the horn a wack. Sometimes that will get a horn not used working again...for awhile.

I seem to need a horn about ever state insopection since that is the only time I use them. ::)

Of course I am assyning you checked the fuse and the wire for power and there IS.

Macmac- Ah, the old 16oz fine tuner technique! ("Hammer" for the yungins)

With a meter, the horn is an easy trace. You don't have to remove anything. Does it get juice when you press the button? If no, work back toward the switch. If yes, I guess you whack it.

I replaced my horn on the '05 Nomad after 5 yrs. Bought a black, loud horn at parts store. Much better than the OEM horn. "Can ya hear me now?"

Good advice Bob and Mac. If the hammer doesn't do the trick use a bigger hammer.

Well some horns check out good and still won't vibrate. I up and wack em first which can save time. If not it's really broke n' ya need a new horn.

I never ever ever use a horn, and would outlaw them all if I could. I just can't stand hearing them and it just sets me right off to do so.

other siren things do the same to me and today at a frinds house I had to sh*t one off. I cut the wires.

My friend is a maniac for every sound device ever made, and a year ago he had a stoke. So I go help, but today he wasn't there, and I have vengance on his device.

Last time he wasn't there I mooned his vido door yard camera.

Now I know this is nasty stuff to do to a buddy, but i swear it keeps him alive

I was measirung a scoot he has, for a van ramp.

Hey Mac. So what do you do if someone is suddenly backing out of a line of cars and you have nowhere else to go to avoid them ?

YELL, and that very thing has happend. Cagers don't hear that either, but they hear the beating their car gets. I have been that close, as to pound on the cage with my bottom fist, not to damage anything, but to make a noise 'that cager' will hear.

And almost always I have some escape path.

These days with AC running, the re-lated fans, the radio, cell phones, texting, male up, shaving, and the rest of the BS cagers do one must see everything at all times to ride.

Before i pass 18 wheelers i check every blooming tire on it too. So far about 6 times this saved me, but oh man is it boring, but what else is there to see on the interstate anyway.

Cadgers don't seem to hear horns, and they don't seem to even look in the general direction any more.

My way is to understand i am invisable to them, and so i really try hard to not be where they will be at the same time. I try realy hard to never set myself up to have to stop for a red light too. A moving target is harder to hit than a stopped one.

If I must hit a red light I set my self up a bit back and am ready to move left/right to another place. Once stopped I am ready to move and study the rear view untill a few cars are stopped behind me.

I see a lot of drivers doing anything but be driving anymore. This is a sad state of affairs.

I wish cars were all stick shift, so not much else but driving could happen, but that isn;t working out at all. We are seeing the last of the last stick shift cars ever made now.
