Clutch & cam chain repairs

Hi all. My 07 turned over 31,000 on the way back from Eureka Springs Ark Sunday. I plan to do the cam chain extenders in the next couple weeks as both are fully extended. I have the new pieces from Chuckster (2 for $35) and got new gaskets (2 @ $4 each) and O rings (2 @ $3 each) from Maw Kaw.
I was considering doing the clutch spring upgrade at the same time. Maw kaw wants $34 for the engine cover gasket and $31 for the early Mean Streak spring. Was going to grab new exhaust gaskets at the same time and Kaw wants $8 a piece for them. Used the part in our list for gaskets from Harley and that is not even close to the same gasket as Kaws. And the Harley dealer in town won't order the Barnett Spring for me cause they don't want to be liable for me using it on something other than a Harley.
So here's my question: anyone got any good sources for the Barnett or Kaw springs, engine cover gaskets and/or exhaust gaskets?

Ross, I paid $20, including shipping, for my Barnett MT-25 but had to wait over a month for it. I can't recall the name of the online vendor I purchased it from. I do remember CJ paying just a little more but he got his quicker than I got mine. If you are in a bind and can't find one right away, I'll mail you mine for the same price. Meanwhile, Google Barnett MT-25 and it should bring you to a retailer online.

Here's the best source for the Barnett spring: http://www.mobbley.com/page/61866202

They shipped really quick when I ordered mine.

Thanks Scott for the link. I will definitely need that in the future. The price isn't bad at all.

Try SPC - Sherms Cycle Products - in Oregon, they specialize in Kawasakis.

Thanks All.
Not having any problem with the clutch. Just thought that as long as I was going to take some things apart on the bike I would go ahead and do it at same time.

Did some on line searching and the Mobley source was the best that turned up so I ordered one ($20 + 5 for shipping) from them.

May just let it set in garage until I have a problem too. Just depends on my mood that day and if I can think of anything better to do. ::)

Ross,
If you do it, remember you only have 21 days before you leave for the SE Rally

I ordered Saturday and the MT-25 is available here at $18 + $30 for the gasket pack.

What did you mean about the HD exhaust gasket being not even close? Does it not fit the header? I have 2 here for the V&H pipes for later so you got me going!

If you asked for the correct HD p/n on the exaust gasket, it will fit and work. Ive had them in my bike for years with no problems at all. It does look a bit different but they do work.

Ring,
When I gave HD the number from post they brought out a Doughnut looking thing that was the right diameter but about 7/16 inch thick. Reminded me of the old gaskets that went between cast iron exhaust manifold and exhaust pipe on cars and trucks?
Both HD brought out the same part and I checked the number between stops. And both quoted the $8 each price so even if they would have worked they charge more than Maw Kaw does for the OEM gasket.

I got the HD 17048-98 pair of gaskets. They look no more than 3/16" thick.

What does the early Meanstreak spring mean for your '07. I am still trying to figure out the right Meanstreak spring for the '06. I also have a back order on the MT-25 and will look at CJ's source.

I'm also using the HD 17048-98 gaskets. They fit fine and I think they only cost me about $4 for a pair, don't remember for sure but they were definitely not $8 each.

Mine gaskets also are only about 3/16" thick anf don't look like a doughnut. They came in a plastic bag with two pieces in it.

I'll be picking up a set of the HD gaskets within the next few days and will post up a few pics once I have possesion. If they don't resemble what I need I'll just go to the local Kawasaki shop...
