MC Tire Air Pressure

I have just recently purchased a new set of Dunlop D404's for my 2001 Nomad. I will be doing about 1,000 miles this weekend. Does anyone have any recommended tire air pressures other than what the manual states?

I will be riding 1-up with a fully loaded bike (luggage).

Those are the same tires Im using, 42psi seems to work very well for these tires, both front and rear.

40/42 is what i would run.

We run 42 in the front and 48 in the rear. We run a bit higher pressure in the rear tires and get better mileage out of them.

With a high tire pressure, aren't the tires wearing out faster than what's expected? Is the handling better for twisties?

Handling is fine and Brian got over 20,000 miles on his last Dunlop Elite 3.
