Been laying-low from the site lately Ray... and been busy working a whole lot, and trying to ride when possible.

Absolutely freezing here tonight... somewhere around 28 degrees. Not real great riding weather.

I hope the weather starts to become a bit more reasonble soon.

Well Ray, by the time I got back to this you would have already headed north into Wisconsin.

From what I can tell... your morning and evening hours of riding will be chilly -- although the mid-day temps should have been good on that trip.

Tomahawk is quite a distance north, northwest from your location.

Did you ride by your self?... or with a group of some sort?

OP: looks like mowing will be on the agenda here within a week. The grass is dark green and starting to take-off quite well.

Did I mention I hate mowing, or anything related to yard-work? LOL!! My father owned and operated cemeterys across Central Illinois -- so from the moment I was tall enough to push a mower I mowed every year from the moment the snow melted to the first snow-fall of the winter. Needless to say, I mowed more in those years than anyone would in 10 lifetimes... and I still absolutely hate it!!

Well... riding for me has been a "hit-n-miss" situation.

I am getting in a few short 1-2 hour rides once in a while; but I have not been able to get in a long all-day ride yet.

By this time last year, I would have done one, or would be doing so this weekend... but with the rain and colder temps... I am not going to get a long ride in yet.

Hope everyone else is getting out a bit.

Not much. I have knee issues now and it hurts when it's bent in a 90˚ position. I rode 15 miles to work and it was singing, so my riding has been limited. This happens when I drive or sit for awhile, and it's stiff and hurts when I get up to walk. Funny thing is walking isn't a problem. Went to a orthopedic doctor this week and had a MRI. Waiting for the results, but the doc thinks it's a cartilage issue based on x-rays and the exam.

Lately I have been putting more miles on the 800 then the Nomad. I'm thinking about putting the bags on the 800, maybe the Nomad tank badges, and maybe you other riders wouldn't even notice.

That 800 looks an awful lot like Brillo's.

Well, Cartelege it is. Doc says it's both sides on the right knee. I am going in the 13th of May to get it fixed. Oh well. Better than a knee replacement. That would suck.

Hope you get it all fixed, Ponch. I've got a right knee problem too, although the foot rest on the crash bar helps a lot. I believe my right knee was abused by all the long hours I drove when I was a working man. Now I'm a retired man, and LOVE it.

On the 29th, Donna and I are flying out to the west coast. I was going to ride my bike, but we eventually decided to drop that idea when it turned out to be a lot less expensive to fly.

I'll check in once in awhile on the forum but I'll be back home on May 16th.

The weather around here hasn't been too bad. I've ridden a couple times over 100 miles since the snow melted. Boy that was a long, long winter. BnG

Hope you recover good enough to come in July. Should be just enough time, if it isn't too bad, and you do your therapy.

I took a nine-hour ride last Saturday way up into Wisconsin. This was my first long ride of the season. I was glad to see that I didn't get sore -- despite the hours and fighting the wind the whole time.

Good luck on your surgery Ponch.

Thanks Greg and Dave. It's a week from Tomorrow. I can't wait as it's getting worse in terms of pain. It hurts most of the time now. I should be fine by July, and actually before then. I hate seeing the Nomad sit in the garage not used. My wife wanted to go for a ride last weekend, so I went for a short ride, just 6-7 miles. After a mile I was in pain and no way would I make it even 30 miles. Anyway, thanks.

I had the surgery 8 days ago and I have been progressing well. I can pretty much walk without too much limp and can go and down stairs. It's not perfect though and I will be doing PT for another few weeks. We'll see. I haven't ridden yet and the doc said 2-4 weeks. Hopefully it will be 2 weeks.
