Is this Mileage a Concern?

Sorry for all the stupid questions but being new to the Kawasaki Community (Have owned several Yamaha Ventures and a couple of Honda GW's) I was wondering about mileage on the VN 1600. I am about to purchase my first 1600 VN and my question is should I be concerned about the bike having 14,500 miles on it? Please forgive me if this has been asked before.

Thanks for the help!
John

I would say no. A liquid cooled bike and with 14,500 miles is not bad. I bought my 07 in june last year and put 7000 miles on it before I had to put it up for winter in November. There have been reports of these bikes goung 117,000 miles

It is just getting started.

I bought my 2000 FI Nomad in April 2004 with 16K and it right now has 117K

Last summer on the way to Alaska it rolled over 100,000.

There is still plenty of life left.....

No worries man. You've got plenty of miles and smiles ahead of you on that scoot.

I talked to a guy in Chattanooga with a 2001 that had 177K on it and the only thing he wore out was tires.

Yes. With that mileage I would be very concerned. Concerned where I am going to ride to put another 100,000 on it

We are talking about a trip that would fill in most of the southern states. My Brother lives in Mississippi and I have a friend in California that I haven't seen in a while. Another friend is planning a trip along the northern states and then up into Canada. I don't know if I will make that trip, but I am going to try. That should cover a few miles

As was stated earlier , there are many bikes over the 100k mark and a couple over 200k. I bought mine with 28,000 miles showing, Im at 44,000 after 2 seasons, and no problems at all, just routine maintanance.
