New guy searching for local 'Mad

Hello, name is Jeff and I am in the Twin Cities, MN area. Been riding since my first Sear's mini-bike. Currently ride a Honda Sabre and wife has a Spirit 750, both bikes are solo'ed but we miss 2-up riding so the search is on. Not too much up for sale yet, too early here. Was 4° here this morning! Checking Craigslist, cycletrader, Ebay, etc everyday is becoming a daily ritual. ::)

Welcome Jeff. It might help if you could give a little more info. Are you looking for a 1500 or 1600 or does that even matter? You looking for a stock bike that you can make your own, or one that already has lots of goodies? And maybe a price range ?
Again, welcome and happy hunting.

Welcome Jeff, You are on the same track I was and I ended up finding a sweet deal on E-Bay just a few miles down the road, might take a little time though. CL is good too. Let us know what you find. - Just a word to the wise, the blue and silver is the best!

Welcome Jeff,
You will really like the Nomads. I got mine just over a year ago, upgraded from a 750 Vulcan, kinda like going from a sportscar to a Caddy, lots more comfortable for the passenger. My '05 Nomad was a dealers demo unit it had 3700 miles, it was like getting a new bike at a used price! You could check out that route also. Good Luck on the hunt. By the way, we had -15 degrees this morning on the Iron Range. Later!

1500, 1600 it's all good. Looking for an '2000 and up. Looked at a local 2000 from a private party ($6500) but after seeing the pics of this dirty, scratched up bike I passed. Just looked at a 2006 ($9500, 4900 miles) from a dealer but all the paint was swirled. Previous owner must've used something really rough to clean it. He drove it thru the snow and muck to the dealer and it was caked with mud. Dealer just threw it on the showroom floor. I asked for a break down on the price he gave me and after many questions (like pulling teeth!) he finally told me the price included a $150 fee for shop to go over bike and $50 for them to hand carry title transfer stuff over to the DMV. I asked what the shop had to do to a bike with 4900 miles on it and wouldn't answer me, also I said I can walk myself over to the motor vehicles but it was their policy. I walked out. Bike was a possible but the way they treated people was not acceptable. So the search continues.

Good luck in your search mncruiser. It's still early. You'll have plenty of choices before the good riding season gets here. It's worth the wait. Riding two up on the Nomad is a lot of fun.

Welcome to the forum Jeff. Good luck on your hunt. There are many choices out there. In all honesty..disregard the B.S. about colours! If your want the fast Nomad then there is only one choice to have........BLACK

I know it's early, I have to tell myself that hourly! Patience is not me, I almost pulled the trigger on a bike in my head I was not totally happy with. Only thing that saved me was a lousy salesman. *sigh* Was -5 here this morning, no one is thinking about listing their 'Mad here yet. The waiting continues... :'(

Hey Radco, I ride with my son also, he rides Mama's 750. I have mixed feelings when we ride together. One feeling is that I am old if I have a 19 year old son to ride with! :) Second is how great is this but there is also that thought that keeps me checking that those mirror's often making sure he is ok. of course he see's Dad looking at a new bike and wants to withdraw his savings and get a 'Busa! ::) Umm no.
