What's up Ponch? How come you have decided to sell? I checked out your listing and that is a great price. I don't think I would have added the or OBO. I would have upped the price over what I wanted and then let them haggle with you.

2007 Kawasaki Nomad SOLD
I own it outright, so I can be somewhat flexible.
Basically, it's become a literal pain in the ass. I just don't want to dump $1000 in a seat on a bike where the seat is 15% of the worth and growing, with no guarantee I still won't be a pain in the ass. The other thing is, in a perfect world, I would want something somewhat lighter, with a bit more stonk and with a seating position that doesn't put all my weight on my tailbone like cruisers do. As I have said in another post, since losing weight, it actually has gotten worse, and I have more weight to lose. That being said, my wife is as sarcastic as ever. She's the one that gave me my nick name. When I brought the Nomad home, she said when are you going to start writing tickets, ponch? Well, it stuck. She looked at the BMWs and made some equally if not more acerbic comments, but adds it's up to me. She likes the way HD looks and bikes of that ilk, but I don't think I want to spend that kind of money on something that I have to fix. While HD has gestalt, I don't think it's worth the entry price as compared to GW or BMW. The value isn't there from a technical standpoint. As far as a GW goes, it's kind of big for an every day commuter and I'd have to sit on one to know if the seat to peg distance and position is rational. So far, the R1200GS Adventure fits me the best out of any bike I have ever sat on. May be I will find a used one or bite the bullet. Or may be my wife will trist a body part and I will get something else or may be I will abstain. Quote:

sorry to hear about your decision. It is to bad that you could not find some kind of modification to do to either the shock system & or the seat. Hope you find a motorcycle that fits you & your needs. I have found that if it is not comfortable or fits well it will not be used. this is true about anything from shoes to golf clubs to cars or even motorcycles. You have to be happy to enjoy. Wish you luck on your search.

A russell seat will be close to a grand. To me, even if it works, is a lot of money I will never get back.

I don't know how tall you are, but I'm 6' 1" and a newer Goldwing burned my butt after an hour of riding. I tried Mic O Pegs and other gizmo's to make it right...but none of them worked. The number one problem I have with motorcycles is comfort. The "pre 2001" Goldwings were more comfortable to me. I haven't tried the Nomad but I'm sure tempted.

Might be sold. Haggled with someone and said ok, now waiting for their ok... Not what I wanted to get, but it is what it is.
