I'm planning to build a new windshield. I want it shorter than the original and wider than the org. I've learn how to cut the plexiglass, but how do I get the plexi to curve like the original shield. Thaks inadvance chubsey

I think you'd have to build a form out of wood with the desired curvature and use heat to mold it to fit the form. That's the 50,000 foot flyover, I'm sure it's more involved than that.

For what it is worth I have made several windshields and lowers for both my 1999 and now my 2006 simply using 1/4" Lexan. 3/16 is a little stiffer and harder to get to "curve". I simply made cardboard templates for size, and then cut them out on a bandsaw, finished the edges with sand paper and emory cloth, and used the natural curve of the hardware to bend the windshield to shape. I can't imagine what it would require to heat and bend the stuff, but I didn't really find it necessary.

I haven't done this myself, but I have a friend that did the same think. Just cut it out and used the hardware to bend it. It's still just fine

Thanks . I'll go with let the hardware do the bending.

I hate to get picky, or I'm just dumb, but isn't 1/4 > 3/16? Why would it be stiffer?

Sorry if this is a dumb question.
