Extended Warranty

Just got my notice for the extended warranty and I was wondering if it is worth the money to go with it? How many of you have it and how long did you take it for? Your thoughts are most welcome.

Al, I purchased the 4 yr plan when I bought my bike. I paid $600 but you can get the same plan online through Ebay from a dealership in Colorado for a little over $300. I think it's definitely worth the money. Zero deductible with unlimited mileage.

Thanks Mitch. Your right, I have checked that out and a little over $300 is a whole lot better the $750.00 for 48 months. Let the bidding begin.

I picked up the extended warranty from Ebay shortly after I purchased my 2008 Nomad. It was $355 from the Colorado dealership, quick and easy transaction and my warranty was reflected on the Kawa website in less than a week. $355 works out to $88 a year, cheap insurance if I do need any major repairs.

My bike came with a four year extended plan when I bought it in 05, I called Kawasaki to see if there had been any warranty claims on the bike and they told me that its never had any warranty work charged to it. Im pretty handy around mechanical stuff so if it had been me buying the bike new I never would go for the extended plan unless I knew that there was a problem with that particular piece of equipment.

I guess the warranty is a pretty good deal. I know my '08 has a two year warranty which is a year better than the '07 Honda I owned. I haven't taken a warranty yet but might consider it if the price is right.

There have been discussions in the past on extended warrenties. Several, including myself, have purchased the four year extension off of eBay from Fremont Motorsports in Florence, Colorado. This is an official Kawasaki dealership. Within a few days after closure of the eBay bidding, you will receive a copy of the contract from Fremont. Within a week to 10 days you will receive a letter from Kawasaki thanking you for purchasing the extended warranty and also a wallet card showing name, dates, etc. Shortly after that you can go on-line to the Kawa web site under "Owner's Manuals, Warranty, and More" and with your VIN number verify the new dates of your warranty.

Purchase the extended warranty off E-Bay from the above mentioned dealer. $360.00 and have already received all the paper work. Great deal, good people to work with. Would do it again in a heart beat.

Glad you got it. I bought my Nomad used and the warranty had already expired. If I was to purchase a used Nomad right now, I would look for one with a extended warranty. As stated, $80/year is cheap insurance.
