Myrtle Beach Bike Week

Anyone down for the weekend? Any locals want to ride on Sunday? Would like to get together with some people once a month for rides, anyone in the area interested?

I actually live in Surfside Beach, south of Myrtle. The spring and fall rallys are actually in North Myrtle Beach and south of Myrtle Beach's city limits. But you are correct, Myrtle Beach doesn't want bikers.

I was wrong, it is 89 db. I copied this from their web site.
"subject to several new ordinances. For example, you will need to wear an approved safety helmet and eye protection while riding your motorcycle within the city limits. Your motorcycle must have a functioning muffler and you will not be allowed to make excessive noise. At idle, motorcycles and other vehicles may be no louder than 89 decibels. You will need to present your license, registration and proof of insurance at all traffic checkpoints, which will be more common beginning in 2009. These checkpoints also may include noise measurements." Keep in mind in SC helmets are optional and not required by State law. Unless you are in Myrtle Beach.

When is bike week in Myrtle, we ride up to Myrtle Beach about every other month from Santee for the weekend. Just two of us.

The fall bike rally was from Sept 30th to Oct 4th. I am not sure when the Spring 2010 is.

I would be happy to ride with you when I get back from California as long as it is outside the MB city limits.The city won't get one penny from me.If they don't like my motorcycle dollars,then they won't get my vacation dollars either.

I hear you on that. Most of the bikers took Hwy 31 bypass around the city to go from North Myrtle Beach to Merrills Inlet.
