Dual Sport website geared for SE riders
I spend some time looking at www.dixiedualsport.com
Just the slide show at the start is worth looking at it. It is all about dual sport riding in the SE. Darn I have GOT to get a KLR 650. They are too cool.

Man, hillclimbing, trails riding, busting it through the woods, making jumps. . .only memories now. I would need a death wish to try it now at my age!

Had an old Yamaha DT 250 35 years ago (ouch!). Motocross and Enduro raced it when MX was an outdoor adventure over the river and through the woods, not the indoor shows they put on now. Gear was nothing more than a helmet, boots and gloves... and trees hurt!
When not racing, about a half dozen of us would meet at our local dealer in NE Ohio for a day long ride. I used to leave after working 11pm- 7am and not get back from our rides until dark every weekend. Rides included everything from interstates on dirt bikes (yeah we got pulled over), strip mines, open riding areas we rode to and occasionally trailer the bikes to West Va. Honestly can say it was the most fun I will ever have on any motorcycle :( I do miss those days! |

No big MX action for me ... I am too old. But to plunk along trails nice and unhurried is really nice. Saw some KLR 650s and 250s recently and the burn started again.
It is just neat to see where some of these guys go too. I love the slide show in the front of the website.
