Speedo cable

I was riding to our Sunday morning breakfast meeting and lost the speedo and odometers. I checked the cable and found that the end going into the wheel assembly was broken off, just the inside part of the cable end had broken about 3/4".

How hard is this to replace and how long does it usually take to get a cable?

I am going to try to see if a shop in Orlando that is open has one, but I fear that it probably won't stock such a thing.

Speedo cable

very easy to replace and it just unscrews. Don't know about the availability however. You could check online stores for parts.

Speedo cable

I have to wait 5-7 days to get one. I hate the fact I can't ride on spring break! It sucks. I may go out on a ride on Saturday with my buddies though. In a pack, I won't have to worry about knowing my speed.

Speedo cable

I'll bet a universal cable kit would work. These used to be sold cheap at every auto store. You cut the new cable off as long as you need, and stake this little end on it with a little crimping die that comes with it. Takes about 10 minutes once you have the old cable out to measure it. (don't forget to include the end that broke off.) Grease it & stick it in the old housing and voila!
