battery brands?

It's time to replace the battery on my Nomad, and was wondering if anyone is using the Wal-Mart battery, I think it's Everstart?? I used them on my sportbike and they worked fine. Just wondering what people think of them. I really don't feel like spending two or three hundred on a Yasa battery. Thanks!!

I was looking at that the other day chmorro. Their electronic booklet show's they don't carry it, but.......any batter that will fit will work as long as you have plenty of Amps in reserve.

I like the Yuasa battery that comes stock. I replaced one on my first Nomad after 4 years. Didn't really need to, as it was the starter, not the battery with the problem in the end.

When I did replace it, I got an exact replacement on the Internet from some battery supplier (sorry don't remember who) for about $70. It was the exact battery that you get from Kawasaki.

Type the battery model number in Google and see what you get.

I've always found the original brand battery that comes in a bike or car(foreign) usually lasts the longest. had a Honda car battery that lasted 8 yrs. all foreign letters on it. :-)

Thanks for all of the input fellas! I did look into replacing the battery with a Yuasa from a motorcycle shop here in VA., but like I said they wanted $200 some bucks!! I'll try typing in the exact battery that's in the bike and we'll see what I can come up with online. Thanks guys!!

Scoot, that's where I bought mine a few years ago, I recognized the name when you posted the link. When I bought mine the whole transaction went perfect.

Chmorro, when you get it there is going to be directions for how to fill the battery and charge it. Just do as the directions say, not too complicated, and everything will be fine.

My research on this indicates that the Odyssey AGM (Absorbed Glass Matt) sealed batteries are the best currently available on the market. While I haven't yet, I am also about to buy a new one. In lieu of Odyssey the Yuasa YTX20CH-BS would probably be the next best bet. They run just under $100

Having a new bike, I haven't had to worry about this yet. My thoughts though are in line with most of us here.....I think stock is usually the best bet. But..how many of us are running the same type of oil that came in our Nads??
