Cold Air Intake Mod complete!!!

I would like to add a cold air intake to my 08 Nad using both air filters on either side of the bike. Can this be done? I saw an air intake system on Chuckster's site that I am considering.

I would assume that I simply take off the filter and the plastic frame, add chuckster's item and I'm done??? Is it more complexed than that? Do I need to tear into the air box? Help!!

You could put on a Cadmann type set-up with exposed filters; one on each side or Chucksters Dual plate which leaves the left side stock and uses a K&N filter under the stock right cover. I have the Chuckster's Dual Plate and like the protection the stock cover offers. People often don't notice that my bike has a different intake than stock.

I just did the Caddman mod, both sides with 2" k&n filters and Mr. Gasket chrome air breathers.

Total cost me around 65$

If you put the Chuckster single plate on the throttle body you will be surprised at the difference.

The only reason to put anything on the left side is for looks.

Lose the restrictive plastic crossover intake.

I don't know how cold that air will be after traveling through the crossover tube which sits between the cylinders and has to get pretty warm.

You can never move more air than the crossover tube will allow. I'd concentrate on the right side, where you can open up the intake for maximum airflow. But that's just my opinion.

I don't see much sense in installing a filter on the LH side either. Unless you want it for looks I don't think it will do much as Scott said.

Any rt side filter renders the left sife filter as show only. The right side filter does all the real work and draws cold air.

I am not familar with Chucksters left side adapter. I assume it is set up to take the black plastic cross over tube. Bam right now fast, and he has a matching rt side for that set up, to take the black plastic cross over tube.

He also has a right side only set up and these 2 set ups would varry.

no matter what, the left side filter is for show and for show only, once any right side filter is installed.

yeah I dropped off a right side filter once, and a car behind me ran over the filter and it stuck. The car mashed the chrome cover too.

I was running duel Cad's at the time and put the left side filter on the right, and stuffed a rag in the cross over pipe.

Since then I got that blasted junk plastic outta there...

I am not set up that way any more. The left side is quite naked now. I got the spare tin cover on a shelf should the need arise.

I too am right side only, left side is naked, tube gutted. Better airflow around jugs, cooler bike.

yeah maybe some day the leg hairs on the inside of my calves might grow back if I live long enough. That Nomad heat with the cat was intense.

The intake mods are good for additional cooling.

i wouldn't say that you would have to but it would be best to add
a fuel processor such as the the cobra fi2000.
