San Francisco Accomodations

Hey, my wife and I are doing a ride to San Francisco in July and we'll be there the nights of July 6th through 9th. Can anyone recommend a good hotel/motel that won't cost us a fortune but is a good place to stay. We're going to do the tourist thing while were in town, so something relatively central would be an asset. Any suggestions will be appreciated! Dr. Fill

Unless you are dying to stay right in SFO, I'd look around San Bruno/Millbrae/South SF/Daly City. It's just a few miles into the city from any of these places and it isn't as crowded and won't cost you $20-$30 per day to park. There's a couple of nice places right off of the 101 FWY in Brisbane, north of the airport. You can see Candlestick Park from there. It's off the Sierra Point exit. I've stayed there on business before.

Hi CJ. Thanks for the advice. Do you remember the names of the hotels?

I have stayed at the Homewood Suites and right next door is a Radisson. It's in an area with some large office buildings, so it's quiet at night. There's a marina there, too. I think the Radisson has a bar/restaurant, but other than that there's no place in the immediate area to eat. There's just one way in/out of the area and that's off of the 101 Bayshore Fwy. A few minutes south and there's tons of places to eat.
