D7F designation Model #

My Nomad is a model VN 1600 D7F, I think the 7 is the year, F maybe fuel inject, what the D means I have no idea! Can anyone tell me what they mean.

You are right about the 7 being the year. Mine is an '08 and has an 8. The D is the designation for the Nomad as far as I know. I could be wrong on that but think I am right.

The D is the first initial of the factory employee who inspected your bike before it was shipped. In this case it was Donna
The 7 means she inspected it after her 7th beer of the day.
The F is what you are for being unlucky enough to have ended up with a bike she had anything to do with.

If Donna drinks 7 american beers, Id still considor that a high standard, 7 canadian beers and youd better have extended warranty. I thought the F meant it was built on a Friday.

That D7 is a good match for the Nomad speed wise

I used to run those years ago when I worked at Crothers Caterpillar, The largest one we ever had while I was there was a D9H. The ground rumbled when that machine was moving.
