Cajunrider or Audiogooroo-Valkyrie Tips

Mitch
Just wanted to say thanks for the post below. I finally found a pair on Craigslist -$50.

Your installation instructions will come in handy. I had a couple more questions. These are off a stock Valkyrie. The tips I bought are 10" long on the short side of the tip and 12" long on the long side of the tip. Do I need to cut them down in length or just install as is?

Has the screw you drilled into the stock pipes caused any issues?

Thanks
Greg

Greg,

Watch ebay for the tips. You can pick up a set for under $75 if you are patient. I got mine for a little over $60 shipping included. The ID of the tips are a shade larger than the OD of the pipes. But that's not a problem. They slide over the ends of the pipes until the ends meet the rectangular shape of the tips. Prop the bike so that it is standing level and you can eyeball the tips or use a small torpedo level to make sure they are both perfectly vertical. There are 3 holes in the tips that you can use to secure them onto the pipes with sheet metal screws. I put one SS screw in each tip to hold the tips in place after drilling a pilot hole in the pipes. They don't move because the end of the pipes are jammed into the beginning of the rectangle ID of the tips. They look great and add more of a rumble to the debaffled pipes. You can put more than one screw on each tip if you remove the bags or jack the bike up to drill into the bottom fastener holes. Keep your eye on ebay or check with any buddies that had or have Valkyries and switched to aftermarket pipes. Good luck.

Mitch
PS: If you need close up pics let me know and I'll snap and post them.
