TFI Module Closeout sale !
For anyone looking to purchase a fuel module for there Nomad. I have found and place that has them for $89.77 shipped FREE !
I just ordered one. Their site doesn't actually show it for the V-twin but rather for the 2006-09 Ninja 650R and lots of others. If you go to http://www.techlusion.com/instructions/1025.pdf you will see all that it will fit, including our Vulcans. To order go to http://www.motosport.com/street/sear...FUEL-INJECTION

Joe:
These aren't the 'plug and play' models though, are they? Hard to beat that price. |

It's a plug and play, but I didn't see where it would be the right one for our bikes. I just got mine from custom dynamics for 191.95 shipped.

The model 1025 is not a plug-n-play. You have to "hardwire" it in. That is the model I have, and it does list it for the 1600s (check out www.dobeckperformance.com ) It's not that hard to install, and you don't have a lot of extra wire that you have to bundle-up somewhere.

Yes it is the wire in type NOT plug-n-play.. But for the price I can wire it in for sure !!
I know it doesn't list on thier web site like I mentioned in the first post, but if you check the link I attach for Dobec performance it is the correct one. http://www.techlusion.com/instructions/1025.pdf this is a great price at over a 100.00 dollars in savings.

The wire-in type is probably quicker than the plug and play. Just pull the battery to get to the harness. What do you guys think?

Plug and play take about as much work as putting your spark plug caps on....

Check out the Kuryakan version at Dennis Kirk. I think it's $182 with free shipping on anything over $100.

TFI Module Closeout sale !
Just looked at Motosport, and for the tap in model, I see only models that are four cylinder sport bikes. They use a FI-1015 model. The model that would work for our bike was a Ninja 650R, which is a two cylinder sport bike, and uses a FI-1025 unit that is used on VN-1500/1600 model Nomads. Other two cylinder bikes that use the FI-1025 are: Honda VTX-1800, Honda RC-51, Suzuki C50,C90,M50. I was ready to pull the trigger and order one, but I'm 99.99 % sure according to all the information from Dobeck's website that the tap in one offered from Motosport is not the correct model. When I talked to the person at Motosport, I specifically asked for the model for a 2006 Kawasaki Ninja 650R, he stated that it was no longer in stock.
I hope you get a FI-1025, but for a Ninja ZX-6R as listed, should be a FI-1015. Good Luck |

Thought I'd update my "Dobeck TFI" buying experience. I did order the wrong one from Motosport, called them and they promply gave me a RMA number. I decided not to return it but sell it on Ebay after all I got it for a great price... I received 0(ZERO) bids on it at $9.99.
I then emailed "Dobeck Techlusion" and told them what I had done, asked if I could exchange it for the right one if I paid the difference. Being that I bought it from Motosport not Dobeck, I did not expect much help but they said "send it in with a copy of your receipt and we'll exchange it." Which is exactly what they did. I received my "Nomad TFI" today and installed it. Great company that cares about their product and customers! |
