Counterbalance Replacement Chuckster

I was wondering what type of knocking noise Chuckster's counterbalance rubbers would fix. I get a knocking at idle and at low rpms I read in another forum that this is normal for the 1500 fi.
What do you all think?

Let me say one thing first up front. These engines can be quite noisy.
Mine was quiet at first and then the more miles I put on it the louder it had became. After about 25,000 or so the noise was really bad and I had to find a cure or trade it off and start over. I did some research and talked with some people and came up with the counter balance rubber dampers. Took it apart to find them beat up and cracked, I inturn didn't have replacements at the time of tear down so I flipped them around putting the bad side out to tighten up abit. Put the engine back together and it was allot quieter than before. I did get new parts and installed them later, the engine still has it clunks / clatters and what nots but they are reall a bullet proof engine to say the least.

Thanks for the straight info. My bike has 28,000 on it, I just bought it about a month ago so I have no idea how long it has been making this noise. I guess, with the help of my nephew/mechanic, when I have the time I could pull it apart and see how things look.
Does the description of the noise sound similar to what you had prior to changing them out?

Hey Chuckster, how long and involved is this replacement of the rubber counter balancers?

I will say for the first time, you will be like 3 to 4 hrs. I think now that I have done a couple I could do one in 2 to 2 1/2 hrs.

If you have some mechanical skills the job isn't that bad. On a scale of 1 to 10 10 being hardest, I would say a 6 to 7
