The day is getting closer!
We are finally getting some warm weather here in ND, and the past 4-5 days have been great for melting. The high has been in the mid to upper 40s, and it's supposed to stay that way through the weekend. It will still be at least a good 2-3 weeks before I can get the Nomad out of the garage, but at least it's a good start. We had a doozy of a winter here, with over 80 inches of snow. We'll probably still have some of the snow piles here in June. Plus, our streets look like gravel roads in spots because of all the sand used this winter.
But, it will all be worth the wait when the day comes to rumble the Nomad out of hibernation! ![]() PC Login or Register to Remove Ads |

I'm in about the same situation you are. But yesterday I uncovered the Nomad, checked the tires and fluids and started it up! It was nice to hear it again. :) If there wasn't so much ice and water at the ends of my alley I might have gone for a little spin! But riding time is getting real close now!!

The day is getting closer!
I hope that it starts to warm up a bit more up here. It's been snowing lightly the last few days and this morning it was a -16C. :'(
You can tell the sun has much more energy as even when it's below 0C it starts to melt as long as it's not cloudy and snowing. ![]() ![]() Getting really anxious. :) |

Hey can you slow down some of that melting. It is getting awfully wet down here. We have already got roads closed due to flooding and it is expected to only get worse.

Good to hear that it is beginning to thaw up there! We gotten some freak days in Iowa. Today was 72f. But I had no time to ride the Nomad.... what a shame.
Hope you get the promised spring. BnG

The day is getting closer!
I rode for the first time this afternoon. Nothing long; just around 40 miles; but enough to start. Bike did well over the winter.
Was somewhere around 73 here today. Cold for the rest of the week though; but just a short matter of time now.

glwilson, glad to hear you got to ride today for the first time. Wow, 73 degrees! If our steady melting continues without getting any more moisture, I'm hoping to ride by April 1. Looking in my records, I took my bike out last year on March 16, but we hardly had any snow last winter.

The day is getting closer!
My only frustration yesterday were the speed limits.

The day is getting closer!
I hope everyone in our area gets to ride real soon. It has been too long for many of us.
I have watched several (roadman; scion0) in our region that have been riding so far. They live just south of me a couple hour drive or so by car. In the meantime; I bought a couple additions to the bike. PhatII risers (because I am too short to reach the handlebars); and a Powerplus GPS mount and power supply. Hope to get them installed this weekend while it remains too cool to ride yet. Anyway... hope everyone gets out soon.

The day is getting closer!
Ah yes the emergence of nice weather. It brought out what I am afraid is becoming a yearly tradition. All my friends calling me for help doing maintanence on their motorcycles. A friend called yesterday and asked if he can come over Saturday to have me show him how to change his oil.
I should just open a shop and charge them. |

The day is getting closer!
I got my first ride in on Tues. morning. We rode Ridge Road to Therapy Ridge (HYW 20) and back to Fulton. 90+ miles. The wind was really rocking on those ridges. My freind almost lost her dew rag and that's after I stapled it to her forehead!
I got to work on two HD's yesterday and looks like one this coming weekend. I'd be happy if they paid for their own parts. |

I don't even open the garage door if they don't already have the parts and paid out of their pocket. |
